I'd Tell You I Love You, But Then I'd Have to Kill You

By: Ally Carter

Book 1 in the Gallagher Girls series

Cammie Morgan is trained to kill. She’s 15 and goes to a school for spies, though no one will admit it. Both of her parents worked for the CIA, where she would like to work someday. Her parents taught her that the life of a spy can kill you, and her father died in the line of duty. Because of her father’s death, her mother became Head Mistress for The Gallagher Academy For Exceptional Young Women, where Cammie now goes to school.
Now, Cammie, and her friends Bex (Rebecca) and Liz are starting CovOps. But instead of the class she expected, she learns that nothing is what it seems. There is a new teacher, a hot one at that, and he shows that there is a first time for everything. He cancel’s a class, a first in the history of Gallagher Academy, instead Cammie and her team start their first mission in the field.
This is nothing for Cammie, when she doesn’t want to be noticed, she can’t. Code name Chameleon. Even her friends can’t notice her. But on the mission, a boy notices her. A NORMAL boy. Now she has to choose, fall in love or stay a spy.
This book I could not put down. It is now one of my favorites and I would love to reread it again. I can’t wait to read the sequel, the book left of on a cliff. Not the type of cliff like will she die??? But still can keep you wondering. If you asked me if you should read it, I think that anyone would love it. The book is very fictional, but is still very realistic, making readers get captured in the story. It’s a type of romantic comedy with suspense and a bit of mystery. Perfect for a teen spy novel. Now if you’re NOT into spy novels like James Bond types, it’s still different. This book is for teen girls but if you’re a little older you would still love it, and it has just the right amount of suspense.

A member of of My Book Club submitted a review for this book, here it is:
I enjoyed this book because it was very fictional, while still being a romance novel. It's about a girl named Cammie Morgan who leads a secret life in an all-girls school for spies. Her dad died, and her mom is the local ho*ttie. Cammie has to choose between an ordinary boy she meets, and her cover. When he finds out the truth about her, what will she do?? She uses her "street artist" ways to find out about him with her friends. Can she keep her life a secret? Is his life a secret? Find out in this great novel! Sequel coming in October! I would give it 4.5/5
Things I didn't like:
The ending, although the sequel is coming out, I think they author could've ended the story a little bit better.

My favorite part of the book was when Josh notcied Cammie at the carnival.
