The "movie version" of Love Bukowski's life is picture perfect. She can roll out of bed and be at class in her new prep school within minutes because she lives in an amazing house on the Hadley Hall Campus, where her Dad just happens to be the principal. And though she's just joined the ranks of the nation's future leaders and lushes of America, they've all become her best friends. Gorgeous upperclassmen crowd around her doorstep just to catch a glimpse of her performing her original songs. Life is sweet!
Love’s life isn’t exactly picture perfect. She is starting at Hadley Hall, a prep school where its students look like they just stepped out of a magazine. She has dreamed of immediately being popular but is the farthest thing from it. Between having the name Love, being a “fac brat”, and having the new principle as her Dad, it is nearly impossible to find friends. Add that to the fact that Love has a crush on a totally fantastic (and totally unattainable) guy, and you get an interesting start to the school year. Can Love get her movie version school year or will it turn into a soap opera nightmare?
The Principles of Love is one of a kind. It was nothing like any boarding school book I have ever read and I couldn’t put it down. Love is a girl you can’t not love. This book has romance and humor, drama and dreaming, and was impossible to get bored while reading it. The only thing I didn’t like about this book was not having the next one to read.
My favorite part of the book was the ending.
