In the first book ending, Ashley and Bryce’s stepfather, Sam, told them that he killed
their father. Through the book I was left wondering what he meant. Is he really a cold
blooded killer who would kill his wife and daughter and then married a widow of a man on
that same plane? Or did Sam mean something else?
Two girls were attacked coming home from school, now all they have to do is find the
guy. Ashley and Bryce start to investigate and they don’t like what they find. Did the guy
REALLY attack those girls, or are they lying? The Timberline twins are back solving more
mysteries. It is an adventure series with the teens growing in their Christian faith and not
letting anything stop them. You definitely need to read the first book in the series as the
cliff-hanger brings you to this story. The book keeps you in suspense until the very end. It
was fun trying to figure out what the twins’ step-dad, Sam, meant about his past as it left
me hanging in the first book. This was the best part of book two even though the book was
filled with lots of adventure. After reading the first two Red Rock books I think the series
has potential. I recommend this series to pre-teens, ages 8-14.
My favorite part of the book was finding out who Sam really is.
