Nothing much happens in the small town of Clayton, IN. At least not until major teen heartthrob, 19-year-old Luke Striker, comes to town to research a part for a new film project. Jen Greenley, a junior at the local high school and all-around friend to everyone, is assigned to show him around. The only problem is that no one besides Jen is supposed to know who he really is. Between keeping his identity a secret, lying to her best friend who's Luke's biggest fan, writing the advice column for the school paper, and developing a crush on her friend Scott who happens to already have a girlfriend, Jen is feeling a little overwhelmed.
I just loved Teen Idol! Jenny is seen as the typical All-American girl next door, but she is so much more than that. In this book Jen is everyone’s “friend”, but I just loved seeing her different friendship with Luke. Luke sees Jen for who she is, and convinces her to show everyone else who she is. This book is a great story of finding who you are and who you want to be. Meg Cabot created a book about a typical high school and changed my perception of it forever. I can’t wait to read Teen Idol again!
My favorite part of the book was when Jen stopped worrying about what other people thought of her.
